The MP for Morecambe has a new job as number two to the Secretary of State for Wales.
David Morris MP has been promoted to the role of Private Parliamentary Secretary to the Welsh Secretary, Stephen Crabb.
Mr Morris unsuccessfully stood for election as MP for Carmarthen West & South Pembrokeshire in Wales in 2005.
He said his new job as a minsterial aide would not affect his work in Morecambe.
“Before I came to Morecambe I was in Wales for three years,” he said.
“Wales has many of the same issues as coastal areas like Morecambe.
“This is a Westminster-based position and it will make no difference to what I do in Morecambe. First and foremost, I am a Member of Parliament and I will still do what I have always done in the constituency.”
