So what would be the best moment of your life – getting married or scoring the winning goal at Wembley?

Morecambe FC legend Danny Carlton was asked this very question while out shopping in Asda with his new wife Natasha soon after their recent wedding day.

“He said ‘getting married’ but I think his answer might depend on whether I’m around or not!” said Natasha.

Danny, who scored the winning goal at Wembley in 2007 when the Shrimps won promotion to the Football League, married Natasha (nee Burzacki) at St Patrick’s Church, Heysham on June 6.

Natasha, who works as a child minder, was given away by her stepdad Andy Moore and her chief bridesmaid was her sister Emily Burzacki.

The best man was Ian Dewhirst.

The couple first met 10 years ago when Danny, 31, played for Morecambe and Natasha and her friends went to watch him play.

They soon hit it off and Natasha, 28, was there behind the goal at Wembley when Danny struck the stunning left-footed shot which helped Morecambe beat Exeter City 2-1.

As their three-year-old daughter Daisy wasn’t born then, the couple have recently been educating her on her dad’s achievements by showing her the DVD of the game!

Now retired from football, Danny is an outreach worker for Morecambe children’s centres and coaches the game at local schools.

The couple hope to go on a cruise for their honeymoon in December.
