Raves will return to The Carleton after all.

A night of ‘funky house’ and ‘old skool’ tunes is being lined up at the Morecambe nightclub on Saturday, July 9.

This event is being organised by promoters R&G Events.

A dance music night billed as ‘The Final Farewell’ was organised by a different team of promoters in January and drew 1,300 ravers to the club.

At the time this was intended to be the final event at the West End venue as owner Ian Bond’s long-term plan is to convert the club into flats.

But Mr Bond has now decided to continue to hire out the club for other events.

A ‘white collar’ boxing show was held at The Carleton on June 4 and an 80s night is also in the pipeline.

DJs Stu Allan, Mark XTC and MC Domino are being advertised for the ‘Oldskool Summer Sound Session’ on July 9.

It starts at 10pm. Tickets available from www.skiddle.com .
