‘Whale vomit’ mania has swept the globe since The Visitor broke the story of Ken Wilman’s lucrative find on Morecambe beach.

Newspapers, TV, radio and websites all over the world have covered our incredible tale of the Morecambe man’s good fortune.

Mr Wilman appeared on Sky News, BBC Breakfast and Channel 4 News as well as numerous local radio shows and bulletins, and national newspapers including The Sun, The Daily Telegraph and The Mirror. He was also mentioned on ITV daytime programme This Morning, hosted by Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Media in the USA, Australia, Canada, India, Thailand and the Middle East also picked up on the story, and a dealer from France has valued the find.

“It’s been a bit of a whirlwind,” said Mr Wilman.

“The BBC paid for my transport to go down to Manchester and then £150 for a taxi back home.

“Someone from Australia rang my parents at 3.30 in the morning wanting to speak to them.

“And BBC Bristol said they wanted to do a short film about the discovery. I jokingly asked: ‘Who is going to play me...can you get Russell Crowe?’”
