Westgate found to be ‘good’ by Ofsted
Ofsted inspected Westgate Primary School and found the school to be a “good” school.
Both the quality of teaching and the achievements of the children have improved since the last inspection in 2010. Inspectors found teaching to be consistently good and at times outstanding.
The good support provided by teaching assistants was noted and contributed to smoothly run lessons and little wasted time. The Governing body and staff of the school were seen to work well as a team and morale in the school is high.
Inspectors commented that the school is soundly good and ready to move towards being outstanding.
Head teacher Steve Robinson said: “Our partnership with parents is growing stronger and this is having a positive impact on the opportunities we can offer our children. Congratulations to all the staff at Westgate, they go the extra mile with great enthusiasm and always put the children’s needs before their own.”
