Torch bearers come from far and wide
NHS Sport & Physical Activity Awards, Richmond House, Whitehall, London 22.11.11
A BUSINESS manager at a North West mental health trust is amongst those with the honour of carrying the Olympic flame through Morecambe tomorrow.
Mike Roscoe, who works at 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust based in Winwick near Warrington, was nominated to bear the torch in recognition of his outstanding efforts to get staff to boost their health and fitness in the build-up to the London 2012 Olympics.
Other non-residents carrying the torch will include Danielle Giles, Athletics Union president of Bangor University.
During her two years in the job, Danielle has successfully set up various volunteering projects within the community to encourage children to participate in a wide range of sports,
Steven Barnard, who has coached the men’s and women’s rugby union team at Bangor University, will also be on the Morecambe leg of the torch relay.
Follow all the torchbearers on their route tomorrow morning. The torch is scheduled to arrive in Morecambe at around 10.30am.
