Thugs stamped on man’s head
A GANG stamped on a man’s head during a brutal assault in Heysham.
At around 11:25pm on Friday, January 27 the 34-year-old victim was walking home along Sefton Road when he was shouted to by a man who had been congregating with a group of friends in a nearby alleyway.
As the victim turned around to see who had shouted, he was punched in the head, causing him to fall to the ground. As he lay on the floor, other members of the group approached him and began kicking him in the head and body, repeatedly stamping on his head.
The group then ran from the scene in several different directions, some of them leaving in a black car.
DC Paul Donnelly said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack by a group against a lone man.
“Fortunately, the victim’s injuries were only relatively minor but could have been much more serious and so I would appeal to anyone who has any information to come forward.
“Although it is thought that there were women within the larger group, we believe the people directly involved in the assault were all men, all of whom have been described as wearing dark coloured tracksuits and hooded tops and possibly being around 18 years of age.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on the new non-emergency number 101 or alternatively, information can be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.

What we need is Police back on the streets otherwise this type of low life who live on the streets will begin to win the battle and no-one wants that. Come down hard and with the full force and backing of the law and judiciary, that's what people want and is required.
