The grand old hostelry of York is Visitor's Pub of the Year
THE drinks are on The York Hotel in Morecambe after the Lancaster Road pub won The Visitor's Pub of the Year competition.
The York triumphed in the contest to find Morecambe's top pub voted for by you, our readers, with The Battery finishing second and The Pier third.
Mick Dennison, licensee of the York, said: "We are thrilled with the result and would like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to vote for us.
"With the result coming in the week of the National 'Proud of Pubs' campaign, it is a huge boost to our business and we truly hope to kick on now for the next year to improve the service even more in the York Hotel. At a time when the trade in pubs is at an all-time low, we hope the profile of all the pubs in Morecambe has been raised due to this competition and will hopefully encourage people to go out and support their local."
