Supporters raise cash for charity

A charity which helps people suffering from heart disease has been given £1,300.

The North West Cardiomyopathy Support Group in Morecambe raised the money with a walk along Morecambe Promenade and two supporters taking part in the 10K Great Manchester Run.

The walk, from Heysham Village Church to the Eric Morecambe statue, raised more than 800 and Clare and Nick Simpson's run raised a further 500.

All the proceeds went to the Cardiomyopathy Association, a charity that offers information and support to those affected by the inherited heart disease.
