Some of the Lancaster Olympic torch bearers, from left, Dave Watson from Preston, Gayle Knight from Oswaldthwistle, Rachel Fox from Oldham, Laura Johnson from Lancaster, Paul Hattersley from Morecambe and Stephen Walker from Kendal.

THE Olympic torch’s visit to our district has been captured for posterity on a special DVD.

Morecambe Bay Movie Makers, a group of local filmmaking enthusiasts, filmed the events of June 22 when the torch was carried through Carnforth, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank, Morecambe and Lancaster.

Not even the torrential rain and howling winds prevented the intrepid crew of 14 from capturing some golden moments from that historic day.

The DVD is called Inspirational People and includes footage of the relay, interviews with the torchbearers and with Councillor Sheila Denwood, mayor of Lancaster.

It has been scripted, edited and narrated by Chris Abram.

For copies, priced £7, please contact The Secretary, Morecambe Bay Movie Makers, 15 Pembroke Avenue, Morecambe, LA4 6EJ or call him on 01524 416074.

If people want a DVD posting to them it will cost £3 P&P and insurance, for up to three copies in one packet.
