New boss at Platform

A SOUL man will be the new manager of The Platform.

Lancaster City Council worker Jason Mills, who is also a leading soul music promoter in the resort, will take over when long-standing Platform boss Mary Lucas retires this month.

Mr Mills is one of the organisers of Morecambe’s regular Seaside Soul Club nights and the annual North Lancashire Soul Festival.

A city council spokeswoman said: “Jason has worked closely with Mary over recent years producing the information which has seen the venue receive nationally recognised awards. He has good local knowledge and is looking forward to continuing to provide excellent services for the local community as well as visitors to the district.”
