Morecambe’s super mum is now a super gran!

Mum-of-16 Sue Radford has become a proud grandmother for the first time after her eldest daughter Sophie gave birth to Daisy.

Now Sue, husband Noel and their entire huge family are preparing for a big day on Friday when they will appear on two TV shows.

Britain’s biggest family, who live in a nine-bedroom former care home in Morecambe, will be interviewed live in the studio on ITV’s This Morning, hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Then later that night at 9pm on Channel 4, the Radfords will be the subject of a documentary called 16 Kids...and Counting, a follow-up to last year’s programme 15 Kids...and Counting.

The whole of the Radford clan will travel down to London for their This Morning interview, apart from eldest son Chris, 23, who still lives at home and works full-time.

“The kids are really excited,” said Sue.

Sue’s granddaughter Daisy was born five weeks before she herself had her 16th child, baby Casper, in October, meaning Casper was an uncle before he was even born!

Noel, 41, and Sue, 37, also somehow find time to run a bakery in Heysham while juggling their hectic family life. Noel drops the kids off at school in the family car, a 15-seater minibus.

Their children are Chris, Sophie (19), Chloe (17), Jack (15), Daniel (13), Luke (12), Millie (11), Katie (10), James (9), Ellie (7), Aimee (6), Josh (5), Max (4), Tillie (2), Oscar (1) and Casper (three months).

The family goes through 18 pints of milk a day and their weekly shopping bill is usually £250.

“Once we decide we don’t want any more children we’re going to look into fostering - so it’s never going to be quiet,” said Sue.

“I don’t think it’s an addiction, we just love having children.”
