Morecambe drugs gang jailed for heroin supply

Six people have been jailed for a total of 25 years for being involved in the supply and distribution of heroin from West Yorkshire to Morecambe.

The group, including four from Morecambe, were sentenced at Preston Crown Court on Friday.

Majid Raj, 34, of Swallow Street, Keighley, had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs (heroin) and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Angela Pinwanee Dixon, 26, of Halton Court, Morecambe, had previously pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to supply class A drugs (heroin) and possession of cannabis. She was jailed for three years.

Derek Fleming, 49, of Quaker Lane, Bradford, had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs (heroin) and was also sentenced to three years in prison.

Joshua Marshall, 41, of Albert Road, Morecambe, had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs (heroin) and possession of cannabis. He was jailed for five years and nine months.

Lisa Marshall, 27, of Albert Road, Morecambe, had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs (heroin) and was jailed for five years and four months.

Richard Smith, 35, of Fairhaven Way, Morecambe, had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs (heroin) and was given a two-year suspended sentence.

DC Stu Peall, said: “We are very pleased with the sentences given today.

“Drug dealing brings misery to communities and makes many people feel vulnerable.

“We hope the sentences will help reassure residents that Lancashire Police will do all we can to stop drug dealers. We are committed to tackling the problem.”

*A warrant was issued for the arrest of Richard McCrum after he failed to attend court for sentence on Friday.

The 27-year-old of Albert Road, Morecambe, had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs (heroin) and possession of amphetamine.
