An elderly man fell ill at the wheel and crashed into two parked cars.

Police said the incident happened at 12.45pm on Wednesday.

A Ford Transit van being driven by the man hit a silver Ford Mondeo and a Honda Jazz on Heysham Road, Heysham.

The man was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment and police said he had ‘virtually recovered.’
