Lancaster teen handed ASBO and banned from estate
Jack Burns, 15, of Harcourt Road, Lancaster has been given the two-year ASBO.
A teenager who was “abusive and threatening” to residents of a Lancaster estate has been handed a two-year ASBO.
Jack Burns, 15, of Harcourt Road, Lancaster, has been banned from the Vale estate under the terms of the order handed out by the city’s magistrates.
The court was told how the teenager has been at the heart of a lot of the anti-social behaviour in the area, running through gardens, sitting on people’s walls and fences and being abusive and making threats to people.
The ASBO prevents the teenager from acting or inciting others to act in an anti-social manner and from congregating in a group of people that would lead others to fear for their own safety within Lancaster or Morecambe.
He is also banned from the wider Vale estate, other than walking to and from his home address via Barley Cop Lane, Morley Road and Granville Road.
PCSO John Jackson, Vale neighbourhood police team, said: “Burns has been a real thorn in the side of many Vale residents, as he shows a complete disregard for anyone else.
“His behaviour has gone beyond being a nuisance and at times has been abusive and threatening.”
