A “dangerous” Lancaster man has been jailed for four years for sexual offences against two women in the city.

Gareth Green, 33, of Rosemary Lane, was found guilty of two offences of sexual assault and one of assault by penetration at Preston Crown Court on Friday, January 25.

In the early hours of July 29 last year, Green committed two sexual offences against a 17-year-old girl at a house party in the city.

Shortly before his arrest later that afternoon he also sexually assaulted another woman.

Green was sentenced to four years in prison for assault by penetration and two years for sexual assault against the 17-year-old girl and six months for sexual assault against the second woman, all to run concurrently.

Detective Sergeant Mark Stephens said: “Judge Woolman described Green’s behaviour as dreadful, disgusting and dangerous and quite rightly he is now behind bars where he no longer poses a threat.”
