‘FATHER Christmas’ delivered some extra gifts to local charities this year.

Heysham fundraiser Tony Smart MBE dressed as Santa to collect £1,600 from generous shoppers in Morrisons supermarket over the festive period.

The money has been split between several different worthy causes: Autisme Limburg (£100), Cystic Fibrosis Trust (£300), Morecambe Ladies FC (£200), Lancaster and Morecambe Lions (£100), the NSPCC (£100), Primrose House Trust (£100), the Rainbow Centre (£100), the RNLI (£100), Save a Pet (£200), St John’s Hospice (£100), St John Quad Ambulance (£100) and Breath For Life (£100).
