Cram opens luxury student flats

THE man who commentated on Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis’ Olympic gold medal victories has opened a new multi-million pound haven for students in Lancaster.

Steve Cram, himself a former World Champion and Olympic silver medallist, was in Lancaster on Monday afternoon to fire the starters’ gun on the brand new six-storey CityBlock development.

The BBC track and field commentator, and former middle distance runner, also opened a new Sainsbury’s Local store on the ground floor of the student accommodation located at the King Street end of Penny Street.

The 100-bedroom development, described as “a great place to study and enjoy student living”, comes complete with a modern block of en suite study bedrooms, shared communal living areas and individual townhouses centred around a landscaped external courtyard.

The all-inclusive weekly rent includes internet access, daily cleaning services and contemporary communal areas with flat screen TVs.

The development by Askam Construction is the third CityBlock of its kind in the city.
