Appeal after £2,000 stolen from Carnforth car park

editorial image

Police want to speak to this man in connection with the theft of £2,000 from a car park in Carnforth.

The cash fell out of a woman’s pocket as she got out of her car at Booths supermarket on Scotland Road with her husband on December 1 at around 6pm.

She didn’t realise the money had fallen on the floor and CCTV then caught a man driving over to the couple’s car before picking the money up.

He went into the store briefly before driving away.

PC Peter Bennett said: “It is not thought the money was handed in at the store and so I would appeal to anyone who may have any information to come forward.

“In particular, I would be keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image as he may be able to help us trace the money.”

Call police on 101 quoting reference number BB1204456 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
