Apology after scaffolding put up at wrong house
Lian Harris and the scaffolding erected outside her house by mistake.
A mum-of-two was dumbfounded when she arrived home to find her house covered in scaffolding she hadn’t asked for.
Lian Harris was then forced to put up with the unwanted eyesore on the front of her three-storey terrace for three days until workmen finally came and took it down.
It turned out they had fixed the metal poles and planks to the wrong house.
Lian lives on 3 Ridge Street, Lancaster, but the scaffolding was meant for number 6.
She said: “I’d left the house at 11am to go to Blackpool for the day and came home at around 5pm to find this monstrosity.
“It knocked my television and Sky out. I’ve got two teenagers and for them, TV is life. It was really inconvenient.
“I phoned the company all day and got nowhere until I went down there in person.
“I would have thought they’d have the common courtesy to take it down straight away.”
John King, of Way Ahead Scaffolding in Morecambe, apologised profusely for the error.
“We got it down as fast as we could but we were so busy last week,” said Mr King.
“It was a misunderstanding. We were given the wrong address and I can’t apologise enough for the mistake.”
