Man critical after being hit by car in Lancashire

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Carnforth.

The 25-year-old man was crossing Scotland Road near the junction with Market Street when he was hit by a Black Mitsubishi Shogun at around 11pm.

He suffered serious injuries and is currently in a critical condition in Royal Preston Hospital.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 44 year old woman from Cockermouth in Cumbria, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is currently in custody. Sgt. Claire Pearson, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw this collision, or the pedestrian or vehicle involved in the moments before the collision, to get in touch with us.”
