Man beaten with iron bar in ‘sickening’ Morecambe attack

A 40-year-old man was beaten in front of his family in a brutal attack at his home in Morecambe.

Police said two men broke into the house on Waterside Place at about 8:30pm on Monday December 5.

The victim’s two young children watched while he was hit with a metal bar, suffering a broken arm.

The attackers are said to be in their late teens and one was wearing a balaclava and the other was carrying a knife.

Detective Inspector Joanna Dent from Lancaster CID said, “I would appeal to anyone who has information about this incident to come forward and contact police.

“This is a sickening assault on a man in front of his young children. It must have been a terrifying ordeal for the man and his family and an investigation is underway to identify those responsible.”
