So what is ex-MP and reality TV star Lembit Opik doing on a motorbike with David Morris?

The former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here contestant was in town to sign the
Morecambe MP up for a cause close to his heart.

Mr Opik is a spokesman for the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) and got Mr Morris on board as its newest member.

MAG promotes the benefits of riding a motorbike and looks after the interests of bikers across Europe.

Mr Opik, former Liberal Democrat member for Montgomeryshire and himself a keen biker, visited motorcycle dealership Lancaster Honda with Mr Morris on Friday.

“I’m friends with Lembit and he arranged for me to ride on the back of a motorbike because I’ve never done it,” said Mr Morris.

“We have a great heritage of motorcycling around here with (Morecambe TT race legend) John McGuinness.”

Mr Opik said: “Motorcycling is a very efficient form of transport.

“All car drivers should spend 15 minutes on the back of a bike.”
