Morecambe’s very own ‘Time Team’ have been trying to uncover relics of the town’s past.
A small number of volunteers from the Morecambe Heritage Group held an archaeological dig at one of the town’s oldest pubs, the Morecambe Hotel over the Easter weekend.
The team were invited by new landlord Rod Taylor, long-serving Morecambe FC director, to dig in the beer garden at the Poulton Road pub while it’s being refurbished for a grand re-opening.
As the pub is located in the heart of Poulton village, or ‘old Morecambe’, they were working to find items of historical interest.
