Nominations for this year’s Sunshine Awards are now closed.

We received a record number of nominations and thank you to everyone who got in touch.

In next week’s edition of The Visitor, we will announce the short list of three in each of our reader categories – Unsung Hero, Community Group, Sport and Entertainment.

Then it’s over to you, as we open the voting to decide the winners of this year’s Sunshine Awards.

The Sunshine Awards will be given out at our Sunshine Ball, sponsored by Wright and Lord solicitors, at the Midland hotel on Friday, May 2.

We will be raising money on the night for our #SaveOurHospice appeal on behalf of St John’s Hospice.
