TT legend John McGuinness is thrilled after a new stamp and coin collection in his honour was unveiled by the Isle of Man Post Office.
The 20-time TT winner is delighted at the stunning new stamp sheet, bursting with action photos and a full list of his victories so far.
And ‘The Morecambe Missile’ had even more reason to celebrate when he was presented with a birthday cake to mark his 42nd, complete with an image of the sheet on the top!
The sheet is part of a new collection honouring John’s incredible record around the TT course. It includes a brand new, legal tender Isle of Man 50p coin which is available in a wallet or special gift pack.
Speaking at the launch of the 2014 Isle of Man TT races, John said: “I am thrilled to bits, it has really lifted my spirits.
“You know you have made it when the Isle of Man Post Office issues stamps in your honour!”
The John McGuinness – The First 20 TT Wins stamp sheet, costing £10.11, can be bought from the Regent Street Post Shop in Douglas now as well as online at www.iomstamps.com where you can also pre-order the limited edition collection, costing £35 (limited edition of 1000) and 50p coin, priced £3.95 in a gift pack.
John McGuinness took his first victory at the annual Isle of Man TT Races in 1999.
Last year, at the end of a hard-fought Senior TT, he secured his 20th win.
He heads into this year’s TT still as the man to beat around the legendary Mountain circuit.
The 2014 TT races take place from May 24 to June 6.
John was given The Visitor’s Sunshine Sport Award in 2012.
