A top construction company is being courted over plans to transform central Morecambe.
Talks are under way between Lancaster City Council and Wolverhampton-based firm Carillion.
The council is seeking a partner to help improve the town centre through its Morecambe Area Action Plan.
The council cabinet was meeting to discuss whether to move forward with talks as The Visitor went to press.
Carillion has already been picked as Lancashire County Council’s partner on a range of regeneration and property projects.
Carillion’s other projects include the £800m Manchester Airport City and a prestigious development at the heart of Manchester called First Street.
The Morecambe Area Action Plan (MAAP) is a blueprint to regenerate central Morecambe, including better transport links, integration between the seafront, improving the market/Platform area and finding a use for the central seafront area close to the Midland hotel,
