Two postmen will get on their bikes this month not to deliver the mail but to cycle 171 miles for charity.
David Carr and Michael Kennedy will team up to ride from Morecambe to Scarborough to raise money for good causes including one on behalf of a brave little girl from Morecambe.
Six-year-old Amara Atkinson, who has Achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism, has won three medals at the Dwarf Sports Association (DSA) National Games in Birmingham, Amara is now targeting a place at the World Games in 2017.
David, who works at the Morecambe delivery office, and Michael, who works at Carnforth, are aiming to raise funds for the DSA, Combat Stress and the Future Horizons programme which helps service personnel with issues including getting jobs in civilian life, and prostate cancer which David’s dad and work colleagues are recovering from.
They will leave from Morecambe on Saturday, March 22 and return on March 24, when The Royal Bar on the promenade will provide entertainment and a collection.
