No arrests made at wedding reception

A ‘girl’ fight at a wedding reception resulted in both women receiving minor injuries, said police. Police were called by staff at the Strathmore Hotel on Marine Road East in Morecambe at 6pm on Saturday after reports of a fight between wedding guests. A member of the wedding party had been headbutted and received bruising to her cheek. Both women were grazed and scratched. No arrests were made as neither women wished to pursue a prosecution.

Court date set after guilty plea

A man who admits stealing a laptop and cash, and breaching a restraining order by contacting a woman, has admitted his guilt to Preston Magistrates. Gerard Burns, 41, of no fixed abode, who committed the offences in Morecambe, will appear at Lancaster Magistrates Court for sentence.

Man hurt in fall not hit and run

A man found injured near Skerton Bridge in Lancaster was not involved in a hit and run accident, police have said.

The man is believed to have sustained his injuries in a fall.

He was found with serious injuries on July 31.
