The old toilet block near the Battery in Heysham is being removed.

A crane could be seen on site this week in preparation for lifting the toilet block out.

The city council owned toilet block is scheduled to be replaced by a new pre-fabricated toilet block in mid-September.

In the meantime, people can use the two portable units provided until the new toilet block is in place.

Lancaster City Council maintains toilets at Bull Beck picnic site, Caton, Market Square in Carnforth and Glasson Dock, as well as the toilets at the West End Gardens.

Festival Market in Morecambe has toilets for those with profound learning and multiple learningdisabilities.

The key is obtainable from Morecambe Visitor Information Centre.
