Variety was definitely the spice of life for 4,500 Winter Gardens visitors at the weekend.
The Morecambe Variety Festival, celebrating the heyday of Morecambe with all manner of old-time variety sideshow acts, was a big draw on Saturday and Sunday with guests coming from as far afield as Finland and Belgium.
Neil Kendall, festival promoter, said: “It’s the biggest festival we’ve ever done.”
The event was part-funded by the Arts Council and Morecambe Town Council.
“The Arts Council people were here for our Ball on Saturday night and were so impressed they stayed out in Morecambe until 5am,” said Mr Kendall.
“The general feedback has been that Morecambe is back!”
