Morecambe family's tribute to mum at Trimpell

Now the family is holding a fundraiser at the Trimpell Sports and Social Club to mark the anniversary and raise awareness of the Alan Morement Memorial Fund(AMMF) charity.

Debbie Jennings was just 52-years-old when she passed away from a rare form of Bile duct cancer, known as cholangiocarcinoma. AMMF is the UK’s only cholangiocarcinoma charity. The mum-of-three, who worked at Beaumont College, was diagnosed in October 2013 and the cancer had spread to her liver and bowel.

After an aggressive form of chemotherapy Debbie lost her battle on May 20, 2014.

Daughter Amy Hartley said: “We thought everything was going to be okay but her death was very sudden. No one I’ve spoken to knows about this cancer or charity, symptoms normally show once it’s too late.

“Mum was the life and soul of the party, we were extremely close. She lived for her children and grandchildren, she used to work three jobs to support us, everything she did was for the family.”

Amy, along with her sister Emily Davidson and brother Ben Harlowe, will be holding the free entry fundraiser at 7.30pm, there will be a DJ, live music and raffle. All funds go to AMMF.
