Bookmakers have Lancaster singing sensation Paul Akister as a 12-1 shot to win The X Factor after he made it through another televised round.
The 24-year-old reached the ‘judges houses’ section of the hit ITV talent show on Sunday night.
Celebrity judge Gary Barlow was even moved to say Paul had “the strongest voice in the competition”.
Paul made it through on Sunday night’s episode after singing Etta James’ ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ during the ‘Boot Camp’ section at Wembley Arena.
Sharon Osbourne said Paul’s soulful voice was like “hot chocolate”.
But Louis Walsh, mentor of the boys category, questioned whether our man would be able to “sell records”.
Louis still picked Paul to join five other hopefuls at the next stage of the competition in St Tropez, France.
Paul jetted out to Walsh’s £10.5m luxury property in the south of France to film the ‘judges houses’ audition in early September.
But the talented pub and club singer is tight-lipped on whether he made it through to the final 12 who will perform on the ‘live shows’.
You can see how Paul gets on when The X Factor continues this Saturday (October 5) at 8.20pm on ITV1 and from 7.10pm on Sunday (October 6).
