Lancaster man shotgun arrest

A Lancaster man armed with a shotgun has been arrested after police were spotted at Williamson Park.

Police cars, undercover cars and paramedics were at Williamson Park last night (Sunday May 15) after receiving reports of a man with a shotgun in the area.

Police were called around 7.15pm. The man had been allegedly seen in the Stone Row Head area with a shotgun.

Officers attended the scene and later arrested a man in the Grimeshaw Lane area around 8.20pm.

No injuries were reported.

A 43-year-old man from Lancaster was arrested on suspicion of breach of the peace and possessing a shotgun with intent to cause fear of violence. He remains in custody.
