If you’ve ever wondered what Morecambe looks like from space, then here it is.
This view of our town was tweeted by Commander Chris Hadfield, who is living aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
orbiting up to 255 miles above the Earth.
The Canadian astronaut posted the photo to his twitter @Cmdr_Hadfield with the words: “Morecambe at the seaside, England, home and the namesake to the much beloved comedian and entertainer (Eric Morecambe).”
David Morris MP, who serves on the Parliamentary Space Committee, invited Commander Hadfield to visit Morecambe when he returns to Earth.
The ISS is a microgravity and space environment research laboratory and completes 15.7 orbits per day.
