Help wanted for bright Happy Mount Park future
Volunteers with specialist knowledge and expertise are needed to help with a masterplan to develop the park over the next 20-30 years.
Two of the main areas in the blueprint are the Japanese Gardens and formal gardens at the front of the park.

Hide AdVolunteers are needed with knowledge in heritage/history, Oriental gardens, fundraising and record keeping, and someone with knowledge of arboriculture is also needed to conduct a tree survey and work with consultants on a management plan.

Coun David Smith, Cabinet member with responsibility for parks and open spaces, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for people to get involved in the future of the park and leave behind a lasting legacy for future generations.
“We know that many local people have specialist knowledge of particular areas and we want to tap into that expertise.

The masterplan has been developed by a project group which includes leaseholders, bowlers, police, councillors, park users, and the park’s volunteer group.
