Music and laughter echoed throughout a care home as a popular resident celebrated her 101st birthday in style.
Edna Pullen used to own a guest house in Morecambe and credits a life of clean living and hard work as the key to her longevity.
She said: “It was a lovely day, everyone enjoyed it. I had two parties, one at the home and one with my family.
“I just take every day as it comes.”
Edna has a son Neil and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Entertainer Russ Pollard and the Mayor and Mayoress of Chorley popped by to join in the festivities at Brookside Care Home, Bamber Bridge, where Edna now lives.
Manager Louise Newton said: “Edna is a very popular lady. She doesn’t look her age, to look at her you’d say she was in her late 80s early 90s.
“She credits her age to a lifetime of clean living and hard work.
“Everyone was up dancing, it was a really good party. All of the residents slept well that night.”
