Eric Morecambe’s son Gary Morecambe, the comedian’s long-time chauffeur Mike Fountain and Bob Golding, who plays the great man in a touring show called ‘Morecambe’, were on hand at the Inner Wheel Club of Lancaster’s 75th Charter event at The Midland Hotel.

Around 58 guests heard talks by speaker Dr Graham Kemp and his wife, the Rotary President Allan Garrick and the Inner Wheel district chairman Mrs Heather Randall.

One of the members, Margaret Harrison, baked a 50cm high anniversary cake of Lancaster Castle to mark the 75th event.

Mr Fountain took Petra Connor, President of the Inner Wheel Club, to the celebratory lunch at the Midland in Eric’s former Rolls Royce.

This week marks the 30th anniversary of Eric’s death, aged 58.
