A CCTV image of a possible witness has been released after £250 was stolen from a cash machine.

The theft happened after a woman used the ATM outside Nat West Bank on Church Street, Lancaster, on Tuesday, May 6 at around 5pm.

She left her bank card in the machine after obtaining a receipt and walked away.

Someone else came to the machine and withdrew £250 from the customer’s account.

“Enquiries with the bank and CCTV has, so far, been unfruitful however we have identified a woman we would like to speak to,” said a police spokesman.

“She is a potential witness to the theft and we believe that she could aid our investigation.

“The female in the attached CCTV still was stood quite close to the ATM when the customer was present. The same female is still stood at the same location when the unauthorised withdrawal took place and for some minutes afterwards.

“The bank card also remains outstanding.”
