A Morecambe shopkeeper has vowed to turn bald if he reaches a fundraising target for a sponsored abseil.
Mark Stevenson, who runs the Emstrad laptop repair shop on Victoria Street, said he will have all his hair cut off if he can reach a target of £1,000 by this Friday March 27.
Mark is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of his mum, who died of bladder cancer in August 2014. He will abseil down the world’s largest abseil tower, a 4o0ft drop at the Northampton Abseil Centre.
Mark already has his friend Colin Brown, who runs a hairdresser’s on Victoria Street, on standby to shave his head should he reach his goal!
Mark said: “All the staff involved in mum’s care did their absolute best to make mum feel as comfortable as possible.
“So, this is why I want to help raise money for this charity, because of what they have to go through each and every day, how much they do really care for each and every person that they see.
“I really want to keep all my hair, so I am not expecting to reach my goal!”
