HERE’S proof that the mayor of Lancaster really packs a punch.
Councillor Paul Woodruff visited the new Lancaster Boxing Academy to give the club his support.
The mayor, affectionately nicknamed “Woody”, met the young boxers training at the new White Lund gym – even partaking in some friendly “sparring” with the academy’s youngest member, five-year-old Michael Otoo.
Other well-known faces will be dropping in this Sunday (August 21) when the club has its official opening.
TT motorbike hero John McGuinness, Morecambe FC manager Jim Bentley, assistant manager Ken McKenna, first-team coach Stewart Drummond and some of the Shrimps first team squad will be there to sign autographs.
