This funny, uplifting and yet sad play is about four ageing opera singers and was been made into a film starring Maggie Smith. The gala concert at their retirement home gives them the chance to don costumes and perform the third act quartet from Guiseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto once more.

Lancaster Footlights is also staging The Ladykillers - the much loved Ealing comedy which starred Alec Guiness, Peter Sellers and Herbert Lom.

This new version has recently been written for the stage by Graham Linehan who also wrote Channel 4’s Father Ted, Black Books and The IT Crowd.

The Ladykillers will be performed at Lancaster’s Grand Theatre on October 13-17 at 7.30pm.
