Queens Guide to the Sands Cedric Robinson MBE will lead two charity cross bay walks this June as he marks 50 years in the job.

Cedric, 80, will lead volunteers on the panoramic nine-mile trek on June 1 and 2 to raise money for the Galloway’s Society for the Blind.

Both walks begin from the promenade at Arnside near Carnforth taking in some breathtaking Lakeland Views en route.

It will finish at Kents Bank near Grange three hours later.

Kevin Lonergan, walk organiser for Galloway’s, said, “This year sees us celebrating our 30th walk across the Bay and with the Queens Guide celebrating 50 years, we’d like to make the event extra special and are encouraging as many people as possible to take part.”

Places are limited and return transport is on offer from a number of pickups including Chorley, Leyland, Southport, Preston, Garstang, Lancaster and Morecambe.
