LITTLE Mix’s triumph in The X Factor was bitter-sweet for Lancaster’s very own girl band – because it could easily have been them.
Dalton auditioned for the ITV show this year in front of a 5,000-strong crowd at Event City in Manchester.
The talented trio earned praise from judges Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh.
But ultimately, the group – Christina Pedder, Holly Ferguson and Lara van Eijkern – weren’t put through to Boot Camp.
Even so, Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland had words of comfort for the Lancaster lasses.
“It was heartbreaking not to go through, but Kelly came up to us afterwards, spoke to us for five minutes, and said we did really well, and not to give up,” said Christina.
“She said Destiny’s Child didn’t get through auditions the first time.”
