Homeowners warned to lock doors

Latest news.

Latest news.

Police are warning homeowners to ensure that doors and windows are locked when spending time in the garden during the recent spell of hot weather and that valuables, including car keys, smart phones and tablets are out of sight.

There have been a number of burglary offences committed in the Skerton area recently and police will be increasing patrols and using a number of overt and covert tactics as part of a county wide operation to tackle burglary.

There is an increased risk of burglary if property is left insecure - an open window or door is an open opportunity for thieves.

Report any suspicious activity to 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
