THEY say that charity begins at home.
And that is something that Tricia Thornton of St Patrick’s Walk, Heysham, believes in.
After Tricia and her husband Kevin spotted homeless couple Bernie and Kay McCrystal outside The Platform on Morecambe’s promenade they took them in for two days and two nights.
Tricia, who lives in a one-bedroom flat with her husband said: “When I saw them I could just tell they were sleeping rough.
“So we fed and clothed them and put up a bedroom in our living room.
“I just couldn’t see them wandering the streets. She’s blind in one eye.”
