A private ambulance operator has moved to a new base due to high demand.
Morecambe’s Trust Medical Ambulance Service is now on White Lund having relocated from Poulton Square.
The service is part of the national Trust Medical group, which operates a 24/7 on call ambulance service for both NHS and private care providers as well as private individuals who wish arrange their own transport.
The firm also provides medical cover for events, equipment and first aid training, as well as patient transfer services for NHS and private hospitals.
“The increase in demand for our services was behind the move to White Lund and it will give us the space we need for continued expansion of our vehicle fleet,” said Craig Pyne, managing director. “Many people may think that patient transport is little more than a glorified taxi service.
“Nothing could be further from the truth.
“We often transport patients with serious, sometimes life-threatening conditions as well as people who may be recovering from major surgery or accident trauma.”
