Residents from North Lancashire and South Cumbria are being invited to have their say on how local health services are run.

Joanne MacDonald was elected as a public governor representing Lancaster and South Cumbria residents for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in August 2011.

Her role includes member engagement and representing patients with services such as the Lancashire Cardiac Centre and Blackpool Haematology Unit
being used by many South Lakeland residents and she would like to hear from anyone who has an interest in those facilities, either as staff, referring practitioners, patients or families of those who have been treated there.

Joanne is the second public governor to be appointed on behalf of Lancaster and South Cumbria and wants to publicise her role and encourage
constituents to contact her with any comments or constructive feedback about experiences of the Trust.

You can write to Mrs MacDonald via the Council of Governors, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Trust Headquarters, Whinney Heys Road, Blackpool FY3 8NR or you can email her at: jo@jamie-macdonald.com or you can telephone the Membership Office on 01253 306673.

Joanne is also looking to encourage people to become members of the Trust and if you are interested in doing this, you can contact the membership office for advice and information.

After working for the last 12 years within the Ministry of Justice, Joanne said she is hoping to utilise her knowledge and skills to
support the Trust as it moves forward with change and development. She said: “Having had family members with serious heart conditions I wanted to support Blackpool Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to help give patients good healthcare experiences”.
