Morecambe school pupils were surprised and delighted by a flying visit from a billionaire businessman – by chopper!

Tom Morris, owner of Home Bargains, asked Morecambe Community High School if he could land his helicopter on the school field on Friday while visiting the new store in the Arndale Centre.

Mr Morris posed for a photo with the students before flying back to his home of Liverpool.

The new shop opened on Saturday.

Mr Morris opened his first shop in Liverpool 40 years ago - and is now the second richest man in North West England with a £3.05billion fortune.
