Firefighters called to rescue drunk Lancaster student trapped under fridge

A drunk student in Lancaster University halls had to be rescued by firefighters after a fridge fell on top of him at 3.45am on Sunday.

The fridge was also blocking the doorway of the building in Grizedale Avenue, so officers had to drag the appliance to one side, then climb into the kitchen area.

They were then were able to lift the fridge off the man. He was unhurt.
